The Hive Ashburton is the first of its kind with state-of-the-art facilities being introduced in this purpose built, architecturally designed space. This centre offers the highest quality in Early Learning, Kindergarten and care for children from 6 weeks old to school-ready age. The Hive Ashburton boasts a 99 place centre with sun drenched rooms and a wonderland of play yards for the youth of this premium suburb. A strong focus of the environment and the community has been embedded in the design of this centre with a strong focus of education of the world around us and stain ability of the future for children to begin learning from a young age about our Earth and how to care for it.
We will be operating 6:30am – 6:30pm Monday-Friday and welcome the community to come see what the very best in the finest Early Education centre has to offer.
Our centre philosophy is inspired by Reggio Emilia, we provide a very ‘child friendly’ way of educating children, allowing them to just ‘be’ children and to enjoy their world surrounding them while also providing age appropriate educational programs that assist in learning and the development of the whole child. Our focus remains on positive physical, social, emotional, cognitive, creative and moral growth.

My 3 year-old daughter attends The Hive Ashburton and we couldn't be happier. Educators are amazing, they do plenty of fun and productive activities. We've noticed great progress on our daughter since she joined The Hive. We love the daily information and pictures they provide through the app. We are very confident she is in great hands. I highly recommend this place for early education.

We take sun protection very seriously at The Hive. Overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation causes wrinkles and skin and eye damage, ultimately leading to skin cancer.UV cannot be seen or felt. It is not like the sun’s light which we see, or the sun’s warmth (infrared radiation) which we feel. Our senses cannot detect UV so it can be damaging without us knowing. There is a huge variation in UV levels across Australia. The UV level is affected by a number of factors including the time of day, time of year, cloud cover, altitude, proximity to the equator, scattering and reflection. Take away the guesswork of the UV exposure each day by checking out the SunSmart UV widget. The widget shows the sun protection times closest to our centres location, making it easier than ever to be smart about your sun exposure all year.
