Library Bees

At The Hive Early Learning Centre, our reading program is designed to develop a love for reading in our children. Our activities are centred around promoting early literacy skills, including alphabet recognition, phonics, and comprehension.

We have a library nook at all our centres and are filled with well-loved children’s story books and award winning children’s literature, which provides children with many opportunities to increase their language and communication skills. Each year, our highly-anticipated Book Week is one of the many events we incorporate into our reading program, to ignite an excitement for storytelling. In addition, our library offers books with diverse characters and settings, exposing children to different cultures, languages, and perspectives. This promotes inclusivity and creates a sense of appreciation for diversity.
