The Hive ELC Geelong offers high quality Early Learning, Kindergarten and care for children from 6 weeks old to school age. The Hive Geelong is based in a heritage listed building that has a strong history in education and community focus.
The Hive Geelong is a 125 place centre with 5 rooms. Our Nursery room ranges from 6 weeks to 15 months, our toddler room is 15 months to 2 and a half, our Pre Kindergarten room is a 2 to 3 year old room, we also offer a 3 year old Kindergarten program and a 4 year old Kindergarten program. We are located at 70-72 Portarlington Road, Newcomb and are open from 6:30am to 6:30pm.
Our centre philosophy is inspired by Reggio Emilia and the children learn, explore and play in an inviting environment in which they feel a sense of belonging. Our goal at The Hive is to focus on each individual child and their individual needs. We believe in building a sense of home and community where our children will be encouraged to be brave, creative, resilient and kind. We believe as not one child is the same not every child learns the same thus we cater our educational program around each child's interests individually.
Our Rooms
My name is Christine, and I am the Centre Director at The Hive Early Learning Centre Geelong. I hold my Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services and have had over 30 years experience in the Early Childhood Care and Education sector.
I have been with The Hive Geelong since April 2021 and feel I have found an organization that aligns with my philosophy of Early Childhood.
I enjoy forming strong relationships and partnerships with families to ensure that each child develops to their full potential.
I believe the early childhood industry is an exciting, challenging and important role. It is very rewarding to be part of creating a foundation and shaping the children’s lives.

InstagramWe take sun protection very seriously at The Hiveelc. Overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation causes wrinkles and skin and eye damage, ultimately leading to skin cancer.
UV cannot be seen or felt. It is not like the sun’s light which we see, or the sun’s warmth (infrared radiation) which we feel. Our senses cannot detect UV so it can be damaging without us knowing.
